Being Director of Volunteer Services at Virginia Baptist Hospital I was telling a team of volunteers that I would not see them until the third week of July. At that time one of our volunteers got up, crossed the roon and came over to hug me. He said that he was so proud of what I was doing amd wished me safety and health as I carried the mission to the children in Africa. This surprised me since I had not seen that degree of positive caring feeling expressed by him before. This gentleman of some 80+ years made me realize that not only are we carrying our mission TO the children of Mathare Valley but we are carrying the mission FROM so many others -- family, friends, volunteers, church families, associates, MCC board members and others who have a hand in this effort. To think that we are representing these very special individuals is awesome. This is a first for me and others. Let's pray that we well represent all of God's loving care to the little ones on behalf of all of those who have shown that they care immensely.

Mary Gayle can hardly read these wonderful reports because of the tears in her eyes. She is grateful for Purnell's service to these people.Hopefully she can teach me how to better serve. I love you.
