From Purnell:
Our stay at Fig Tree Camp in the Masai Mara was unbelievable! Patrick and Pamela joined us; so we became a “party of 13” for 2 and a half days and 2 nights. Carroll told us that we would be staying in tents on concrete slabs. Duh……the tents had bottoms, three sides with five windows and the fourth side was a marble bathroom. The elephant print bedspreads and dark wooden tables and doors were absolutely handsome. All of our tents had front porches overlooking the Talek River. Roughing it? Not! We returned to Mercy Care, refreshed, “bonded,” and ready to spruce up the school. I wish I had a movie of Lynn, Judie, Carroll and I stretching over, under and around one another with paint and brushes to work on a mural on the back wall of a classroom. When a group of students swarmed around us to watch, we would ask them to please move back because breathing became difficult in a 12x14 classroom of 28, along with a group of 12 extras from another class. To see the joy, excitement, and appreciation in the faces of the staff and children is worth every dreamed hope I had to some enhance the atmosphere of the school. God is leading us daily to make Mercy Care a brighter, happier place.
From the Greenes:
What a wonderful time we had over the weekend. We traveled approx. 250km to Massai Mara Fig Tree Camp. We had an awesome “breakfast in the bush!” We saw so many wonderful animals and visited a Massai “boma” (village). We slept in tents (very nice tents) under the mosquito nets. During the night, we had several animals come to the tent including a hippo, monkeys, a hyena, and who knows what? We saw a lion across from our tents on Monday morning. Today at Mercy Care, we greeted the children and they did the “salvation bracelets.” We are painting the school this week and Sarah is teaching the music teacher how to play the guitar. After only three lessons, he can already play three songs. The kids are super excited. Yesterday, the family did not feel well after the long trip home. Everyone has rested up and is feeling better. We are staying at the Methodist Guest House in Nairobi. We don’t have access to the internet as before. Thanks to all who have sent emails or comments. Thank you Sondra for your loving care of Kidogo, Panther and Brianna. It means so much! We leave for Tanzania on this Saturday. We will try to keep you in touch. Pray of the children of the Valley. With love, the Greene Family.

Hi,
I'm enjoying all your pictures and posts... It seems like you are doing so much. The kids are precious and I pray for y'all every day. I pray also that while you are blessing the Africans, you are also being blessed as well!
I love y'all,
Amber (Sarah's friend)
Judie, Lynn and Purnell,
I am elated that you got through the giggle challenge. Actually with the great things that you all are doing I imagine a fit of hyteria would have gone unnoticed. Keep up the great work. I know that the physical needs of the children are many. And there is no question that brightening the infrastructure is needed enormously. You are getting it done! I am proud of each and every one of you! God bless.
Judie and all,
I continue to enjoy your comments and pictures. Judie, I showed Jackson the pictures and he said, "Look, Nana, there's your friend." I tried to explain what you were doing there and he looked at the pictures of the children and said they were looking for their mommy and daddy. Are any of these children in fact without parents? I can only imagine the positive energy that you and the others pass to the people of the area. Take care. I am sure that you and they are blessed by the experience.
Love, Ann H.
Hi Judie and Lynn,
I hope all is well with you in Africa. I love the website and the pictures from the weekend. It’s good to see you all having some fun. I liked the story about Sarah teaching the music teacher how to play guitar. That is just awesome she can teach her talent to others so quickly. The powerful energy you all are carrying is very evident in the pictures and I get all choked up every time I look at the blog. Terry and I went to church Sunday and the sermon was about getting out of our "safe zone" to do God's work, like the disciples did. Sound familiar? Very admirable work you all are doing indeed.
Love and miss you,
Sara
I can't tell you what a wonderful thing it is for us here to see the pictures and read all YOUR comments.
I'm so very proud of all your efforts for these precious little children. You can't help but 'feel' your hearts as we see and read all the pictures and comments.
Thanks for sharing this experiece with us 'back home' and know that many prayers are being offered.
Continue to enjoy yourselves and we'll be waiting for a full report.
God bless
Carol Bryant
