From Everyone:
We are taking a break from Methare and headed on a safari…so we won’t have internet access over the weekend. But we will keep you posted on Monday about our adventures!

From Lynn:
Yesterday when I wrote of feeling great joy that many children needed little or no treatment, it was because their health conditions had improved so much thanks to the Mercy Care Centre program. However, these children are still very much at risk and so much more needs to be done- continued health care and nutrition as well as their education. The new secondary school at the MCC will be a true blessing and will provide a real opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and neglect that is so difficult to overcome. Today we finished in the clinic after caring for and providing medicine for up to 400 children- none of whom complained or protested while having their heads and bodies scrubbed or having medicines that sting and burn put on open sores and injuries. Every child sat quietly while we did whatever their situation required. Very few of our children could or would have been so brave. Whatever I thought I needed or wanted in my life before this mission seems so unimportant now! Life is what we all should value and thank God every day for all our many blessings. Hearing one child laugh out loud today was worth more than anything money can buy!

From the Browns:
It was with a grateful heart that we finished the clinic today. We treated nearly 450 students and teachers for scabies, ringworms and worms. Many had very serious problems were unable to treat. We are off early tomorrow morning for Masai Mara game park for three days. The headmaster, Patrick, and his wife will be our guests. We will be able to make future plans for the school as we travel. The group has worked exceptionally hard and it is time for some fun. The group will love the animals. So, dear friends, we will be away from the internet until Monday. Kwa heri (goodbye)!

From the Greenes:

Everyone is feeling better…praise God! We all slept well last night and had a wonderful day today. I (Sarah) taught the second lesson to the music teacher at the school today. He can already play and sing one song that I taught him. He will catch on quick and the valley will soon be filled with the sound of praises on the guitar! I am super excited. We are excited about the weekend safari and Lydia and I are ready to see Kenyan life outside of the city. We love you all and miss you and are praying for you. Thanks so much for your prayers….they are with us!

I'm checking the blog and pictures daily and wishing I were there with you all- it is truly the experience of a lifetime. Thanks for all you are doing for "our" kids and teachers and staff. I hope everyone is well and all is going as planned... Carolyn Haase

As I think about the powerful impact you are each making, I am reminded of one of my favorite poems by Mary Oliver. The poem is WHEN DEATH COMES.
“ When it’s over, I want to say all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was a bridegroom taking the world into my arms
When it is over, I don’t want to wonder
If I have made of my life something particular and real
I don’t want to find myself sighing and frightened,
Or full of argument.
I don’t want to end up simply having visited this world.”

Each of you is taking the world in your arms and your life is about the most real thing of all-LOVE.

Carol--just a reminder. Patty and I think animal key chains-250- would be great for students at Glass. A variety of animals would work. Hugs, betsy

Everybody
So glad you had a chance to see some of the county with the safari.

I read all your comments with tears... thinking of the difference you are making 'today' in some of these little ones.

What a fantastic ministry. I know God is smiling and saying "well done my good and faithful servants."

The time is passing quickly....I don't know if YOU feel that way or not but soon you will be home and we're all waiting to hear about this wonderful mission.
